Newborn Photo Shoot

Okay, this is my first official post as Jacob has always assumed our blog posting duties! Our little Aspen is growing so fast, but it was so neat to get these pictures back and see how tiny she once was! These were taken by one of my best girlfriends Ashley Madsen, she is so awesome!! Aspen is now three months old and she changes everyday. It has been such a blast getting to watch her grow!

Aspen's First Swim Party

Aspen got her new swim suit and matching hat and glasses from Sunny's Aunt Kris. She is excited to move down to the valley where she will be able to swim with her cousin Alyssa.

Check out Alyssa's new digs too! Aren't they cute together.

This pic was taken on the Fourth of July! Aspen loved the fireworks.

Aspen learns to roll from her tummy to her back.

Aspen turned 6 weeks old (time flies) and on exactly 6 weeks, we put her down on her stomach and she rolled onto her back. She had a really surprised look on her face and we, being new parents are all about videoing her every move so here you get to see the second time she rolled. She is a strong baby!

More Baby Pics

Aspen is smiling a lot these days. It makes the sleepless nights well worth while.

I guess since she was born in the water, it would only be appropriate that this little one enjoys bath time. We tried to keep this picture PG13.

Aspen was blessed in church and both Grandma's and Grandpa's were there as well as lot's of family. This is my Mother Colette, the baby's name sake, and my Grandmother Moore on my mom's side of the family.

This is Sunny's Mom Jan and her Grandma Goodman on her dad's side of the family.

Her blessing dress that has been passed down for 4 generations. She looks like an angel, doesn't she?

Two New Babies For Grandma Hyatt

This is a picture of Sunny holding the baby 3 hours after Aspen was born. She looks pretty amazing!

This was our midwife Deanna weighing the baby in what I call the "Stork Sack"

Grandma Hyatt holding Aspen and Alyssa who were born 5 days apart. It wasn't even planned like that!

Here they are. Both 7 lbs 14 oz. We hope that they will become best friends and share birthday parties and go to school together. Maybe they were best friends in heaven and saw this as an opportunity to stay together on Earth.

Guess What The Stork Brought...

Aspen Colette Hyatt was born on Friday May 15th at 9:15AM at our home in Flagstaff, AZ. (Don't worry...it was planned to happen at home) She weighed 7 lbs 14 oz and was 20.5 inches long. We think she may be the future Christine Dai role in Phantom of the Opera as she has quite a set of lungs on her. I think that going over the due date by 9 days will help her singing career in the future. The labor was quite short and from the time Sunny's water broke to the time Sunny was holding Aspen in her arms was ~45 minutes. The midwives almost missed the birth and were getting ready to walk me through how to deliver the baby. I got to catch Aspen when she came out and then lay her on Sunny's chest. Sunny was amazing and in total control the whole time during the final stages of labor, unlike the way the movies depict birth with the women screaming and crying and swearing at their husbands. I have a whole new respect for her as she now is not only a wife but also a mother. To make a long story short, mom and baby are happy, healthy, and beautiful. We will keep you up to date on Aspen as we help to mold her screaming talent into the next opera diva!

The Full 40!!!

Today marks 40 weeks for Sunny! As you can see, the baby has nowhere to go now but straight out. We are amazed at how big a 7-pound baby can look inside the tummy of a 5'0" mommy. We're now ready for this little girl to join our family!

One Week To Go, and Anxious To Know!

Full Term- The homestretch now!

Sunny made it to full-term. Hooray! Now we have the peace of knowing that anytime the little rascal wants to come, she will most likely be fully developed. Here are some pictures of Sunny in the baby nursery. She chose a jungle theme (green & yellow) and it is very cute!

28 Years!

I'm ready for a new hiking adventure. I got a new pair of Gore-tex Merrell hiking boots for my 28th bday and these sock-like things that go over the shoe to keep rocks and debris out. Their made by a brand called innov8.

Jr. Hunt Test

Soldier passed the last 2 points of his Junior Hunt test and is officially a Junior Hunter now. We are going to try and stud him out and see if we can recover all the money spent on dog food for him.

6 Months Along!

The Excalibur Hotel and Casino paid for the dress Sunny is wearing in this picture. You'd never know she was pregnant if you watched her walk away, but the side view is now a little harder to disguise.

More Pregnant Pictures!

So to appease the angry crowd asking for more pregnant pics of Sunny, here goes...

My brother got married to a great girl a little while back. These pics are from his wedding at the Mesa, AZ Temple.

Don't I have the cutest wife and sisters!

In this picture, I'm actually showing "blue steel" and David is showing "Le tigre."

Cruisin' the West Caribbean

Sunny & I spent our 3rd year anniversary, and our last vacation before the baby arrives, in the Western Caribbean. We flew into Fort Lauderdale and had a day to spend in Florida.

We rented a car and drove to the Everglades (Alligator Swamps), and took a fanboat tour. The boat hovers over all the swamp grass. It was really neat.

We spotted an alligator. Definitely feels different that seeing one in the zoo!

After the tour, we went to the "Alligator petting zoo." Sunny wanted to sneak it out in her purse and put it in our bathtub at home but we didn't think that the renters would appreciate it, and quite frankly, her purse wasn't big enough. (We tried!)

We learned the difference between Crocodiles and Alligators. Crocodiles are Man-Eaters, have pointy snouts, and you can see their teeth on the outside. Alligators don't like how salty humans taste, have rounded snouts, and you can't see their teeth when they close their mouths. See if you can tell which is which in the two pics below!
