Cruisin' the West Caribbean

Sunny & I spent our 3rd year anniversary, and our last vacation before the baby arrives, in the Western Caribbean. We flew into Fort Lauderdale and had a day to spend in Florida.

We rented a car and drove to the Everglades (Alligator Swamps), and took a fanboat tour. The boat hovers over all the swamp grass. It was really neat.

We spotted an alligator. Definitely feels different that seeing one in the zoo!

After the tour, we went to the "Alligator petting zoo." Sunny wanted to sneak it out in her purse and put it in our bathtub at home but we didn't think that the renters would appreciate it, and quite frankly, her purse wasn't big enough. (We tried!)

We learned the difference between Crocodiles and Alligators. Crocodiles are Man-Eaters, have pointy snouts, and you can see their teeth on the outside. Alligators don't like how salty humans taste, have rounded snouts, and you can't see their teeth when they close their mouths. See if you can tell which is which in the two pics below!

Oh my goodness, your pictures are so cute! Looks like so much fun! I really want to swim with dolphins now! I am jealous! ("Happy Jealous" as my kids call it, of course!) What great memories. I bet the baby had a great time too...I'm guessing riding the horses was her favorite!
